Audacity è il software per la registrazione e l'editing audio ampiamente diffuso nel mondo Open Source. Audacity è un software  multipiattaforma disponibile per GNU/Linux, Windows e Mac OS X.
In questa piccola guida pratica proverò ad illustrarvi come installare Audacity e le librerie opzionali in Windows ed in Ubuntu e come utilizzare le funzioni principali di Audacity per regisitrare da una sorgente audio, editare le tracce audio, applicare i filtri, utilizzare le etichette ed esportare il progetto finale nei diversi formati audio (WAV, AIFF, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, etc.).
